Of Winfield, Formerly of Athens
William Franklin Wiley, 91, of Winfield, WV passed away February 27, 2026 at Teays Valley Center (Genesis) in Teays Valley, WV.
Born October 4, 1934 in Lerona, WV, he was the son of the late Ralph Conchis Wiley and Lockie Jane Caldwell Wiley. He was self-employed most of his life, owning a John Deere Dealership in Athens, WV and later owning and running coal trucks. He loved hunting, guns, pocket knives, the outdoors, cattle, anything John Deere, and telling stories. If you knew Will Wiley, then chances are you've heard a story or two that were his favorite to tell. When his health declined, he loved being outside rocking on the porch watching the wildlife, rocking the great grandbabies, and working jigsaw puzzles as if it were a job.
In addition to his parents, Will is preceded in death by his siblings Bertie Ayers and Hubert Wiley, and his brothers-in-law Freeman Ayers and Don Doyle. Left to cherish his memory are his brothers Ralph Wiley, Perry Wiley and wife Sherry, Arlus Wiley, Fred Wiley and wife Jeannie, his sister Catherine "Polly" Doyle, his sister-in-law June Wiley, his children Tammie Kale and husband Gary of Winfield, WV and Tracy Gunter and husband Steven of Winfield, WV, his grandchildren Derek Kale of Winfield, WV, Brittany Kale Sauls of Mooresville, NC (great grandson Jaxon Sauls), Zachary Gunter and wife Makayla of Hurricane, WV (great grandson Brooks and great granddaughter Collins), and Nicholas Gunter and wife Jacey of St. Albans, WV (great granddaughters Blakeley Parks, Navy Rae Gunter, and Daphnie Gunter), as well as many nieces and nephews, and all the friends he made along the way.
