Obituary

William Vernon Vanover, 68, of Pipestem, formerly of Oceana, died Thursday, March 23, 2023, in Lewis Gale Montgomery County Hospital in Blacksburg. Born, May 20, 1954, in Iaeger, he was the son of Doris Lenoria Jackson Vanover and the late Estel Vanover. William worked for the Department of Highways as a truck driver. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. William loved his family, enjoyed motorcycles, gaming, model cars and working on cars. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Vanover. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Doris Jackson Vanover; Three sisters, Diana Wyatt, Wanda Cale (Max) and Karen Wyatt; Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, March 27, 2023, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Matthew Trail officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 Noon until the service hour at the funeral home.
