William Ray Dickerson 75, of Princeton died Friday, June 17, 2022, at Princeton Community Hospital.  Born September 12, 1946, in Boissevain, VA. he was the son of the late Cecil B. Dickerson & Mildred A. Harris Dickerson. Ray has been a resident of Princeton since 1960, he was a former employee for the City of Princeton and was a carpenter by trade. He loved music & playing his Bass with friends & family, fishing, westerns and enjoyed working with wood creating crafts. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by two brothers; Mickey & Cletis Dickerson, three sisters; Brenda Thomas, Shirley Richards & Rennie Vance. Left to cherish his memory is his love & long-time companion, Sandra (Susie) Long of 23 years, children, Teresa Grubb (Charlie), Cynthia Dickerson all of Princeton, two sons; James Ray Dickerson & Stephen Dickerson, stepchildren, Greta Long, Larry Long, Stephanie Curran (Jimmy) all of Princeton, Sherry Keffer (Brian), Sarah Gibson (Chris), both of Georgia; Siblings, Linda Farmer (Cleo), Marcella Perdue (David), Tiny Conner (Lawrence) all from Princeton; and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 22, 2022, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor David Barnette officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery near Princeton.  Friends may visit with the family Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour.
