Heaven has gained an angel, William Lawrence Dunnigan "Bill", 72, of Princeton, WV, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 22, 2022 surrounded by his loving family at CAMC Memorial Hospital after a struggle with cancer. Born, December 19, 1950, in Clearfork, VA, and was the son of the late Robert L. Dunnigan and Claudine Mize Dunnigan Lester and the grandson of the late William Lawrence Dunnigan and the late Mattie Grace Dunnigan and the late Frank C. Mize and Georgia Brown Mize Roten. Bill was a very loving and caring man that would do anything for anyone. He was a hard-working family man and a wonderful provider who loved his family. Bill touched the hearts of every person he met. He went to Bluefield Bluefield High School and retired from WV Electric in Falls Mills, VA. He loved hunting and fishing with is sons, loved working on the Dunnigan Family Farm, going to tractor pulls, going on tractor rides, and best of all, going with his wife Patty on their 45 years of life adventures together. In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by his brother Lance Corporal Timothy Dunnigan (USMC), his brother, Michael Dunnigan and his sister, Iris Hampton. Left to cherish his memory a special aunt, Mary Catherine Dunnigan that lives in Charlottesville, VA; Loving wife of 45 years, Patricia S. Dunnigan of Princeton; Three children whom he dearly loved, daughter, Sandra Duncan, son, William L. Dunnigan "Billy" and fiancée, Amber Byrd, s on, Kenneth R. Dunnigan and wife Brandy Dunnigan; In addition he his survived by nine loving grandchildren whom he adored and their names are, Corey, Zach, Brooklyn, Jade, Blake, Alex, Bristol, Kylee and Hannah; Also, he has a grandson that will be born in March 2023 named Bentley that will always know his PawPaw from our loving memories of him; One sister, Ann Bennett; One brother, Chester Dunnigan; His mother-in-law, Betty Lovell; He has nieces and nephews and many close friends. Funeral services to celebrate the life of William "Bill" Dunnigan will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, December 30, 2022, from the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Bivens officiating. Burial will follow in the Dunnigan Family Cemetery in Clearfork. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends. Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com .
