William Homer Bell, Sr. 90, of Princeton, formerly of McDowell County, died Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at Princeton Community Hospital. Born January 11, 1932, Worth, he was the son of the late Grover Cleveland Bell and Eva Mae Henry Bell. Educated in McDowell County, he later served his country proudly with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He had worked at Northfork Hardware Company and retired from the McDowell County Board of Education as a school bus driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife, Wanda Ruth French Bell; three children, Bill "Willie" Bell Jr., Timothy Bell and Jeannie Goodrich, and two siblings. Those left to cherish her memory, include his daughter, Linda D. Argo; Eight grandchildren, Bill Colo, Mike Colo, Stomi Bell, Jacob Bell, Holly Bell, Cameron Lambert, Hannah and Savannah Hunt-Biglow; Ten great-grandchildren; Three siblings, Edna Havener, Jean Bell and Howard D. Bell. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 25, 2022, in the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Ronald Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park at Bluewell. Friends may visit with the family Friday from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour at the funeral home.
