Wilfred Bee Mathena, 86, of Bluefield, died on Friday, December 19, 2025, at his home. Born May 24, 1939, in Princeton, he was the son of the late Joseph Sidney Mathena and Hazel Blanche Poff Mathena. Will served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. He was a graduate of Princeton High School and Bluefield State College with a degree in Criminal Justice. Will had served more than 27 years with the Bluefield City Police Department, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant He was a lifelong member of Bluefield Nazarene Church on Stadium Drive. Will was a gentle soul that loved life, his church and his beloved wife Cuzzie who died in February of 2025. In addition to his parents and dear wife Cuzzie, he was preceded by five siblings, Ella Six, Emma Belcher, Ann Bradbury, Basil Mathena & Randloph Mathena & Jessie Morris. Those left to cherish his memory, his twin brother Willis of Princeton and a host of nieces and nephews along with his church family. Private Graveside services were held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
