Wanda Gay Reece, 74, of Princeton, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, July 21, 2023, at her home. Born March 20, 1949, at Welch, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Rose and Beulah Graham Rose. Wanda graduated from Gary High School, Class of 1967. After graduation she was a devoted homemaker, loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Rose and a sister, Donna Donithan. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Richard Lee Reece, Sr.; her two sons, Richard Lee Reece, Jr. and wife, Ashlee, of Beckley, and Mike Reece and wife, Kimberly, of Bluefield, WV; grandchildren, Shelby Reece, of Mount Clemons, Michigan, Haley Jo, Christian and Presley Reece, of Beckley, Mackenzie Davis and husband, Ryan, of Bluefield, VA, and Chase Reece, of Bluefield, WV; siblings, brother, Bob Rose and wife, Barbara, of North Carolina, and a sister, Deborah Gardner and husband Keith, of Florida several nieces and nephews, and many friends that she considered family. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 23, 2023, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor C. Sherrill Michael officiating. Friends may visit with the family Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour at the funeral home. Following the service, the family has honored her wishes and she will be cremated.
