Virgil Ray (Buddy) Danieley, 91, of Old Pisgah Road, Princeton, died Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the Rockin' Chair Residential care in Lerona.

Born, September 12, 1933, in Gardner, he was the son of the late Virgil Thornton Danieley and Bernice Irene Bailey Danieley. Buddy lived in Princeton his entire life. He attended Mercer School from kindergarten to the eighth grade. He contracted polio at around age seven and received treatments in a Milton, WV hospital for over a year. He was a very independent person in spite of his disability.

He attended church in Gardner, WV, the First Christian Church in Princeton and Bethel UMC, in Princeton where he was baptized in Rich Creek at Spanishburg, WV. While his health permitted, currently attended Fairview Christian Community Church where he helped in the kitchen, being the head dishwasher, appointed by Pastor Larry Dyer. Buddy enjoyed working in the yard and flower/vegetable gardens and also enjoyed working and helping in the neighbors' gardens. He enjoyed working puzzles and often the puzzles would be framed to donate and auction for the Ladies Conference at Church in addition to giving as gifts to friends. In his later years he got to travel taking family trips to Myrtle Beach, the Smokies, Williamsburg, VA, Connecticut, California, a cruise to Mexico and several vacations to several WV State Parks.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Lois Jean Danieley and twin brothers, Daniel David & Donald Roger Danieley. Left to cherish his memory are one sister, Bonnie Danieley Lenehan of Princeton, WV; Two brothers, James Larry Danieley and wife Sandy of Denver, CO and Johnny Wayne Danieley and wife Ann of Princeton, WV; Several nephews and a niece also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Buddy Danieley will be held at _2:00 P.M., Friday, December 20, 2024, in the Chapel of the  Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastors Larry Dyer and Blake Bivens officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery in Princeton.  Friends may visit with the family from Noon until the service hour at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be, David Wert, Shawn Lenehan, Richard Cox, Danny Buckner, Eddie Brookman and Benny Buckner.
