Tracy Dale Carter, 53, of Tabor Road, Princeton, WV passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, May 15, 2023, after a hard fought battle with cancer. Born, May 26, 1969, in Rock, WV. Tracy was the son of Charlie and Thelma Carter. Tracy was a graduate of Matoaka High School. Tracy worked at Kroger in Princeton, WV before moving to Tennessee where he continued working for Kroger until he became sick. Tracy recently returned to West Virginia in 2020. Tracy loved to help people. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Tracy helped to raise his friend's daughters, Jessica and Rachel, which he loved as his own. Tracy was preceded in death by his father Charlie (CJ) Carter. Left to cherish his memory is his loving and devoted mother, Thelma Carter; Brothers, Russell Carter and wife Connie of Texas, Charles (Waylon) Carter and wife Katie of Rock, WV; Sister, Pamela Tolliver and husband John; Special friend, Duane Leftrick and his two daughters, Jessica and husband Quenton and Rachel Leftrick all of Tennessee; Nieces, Kelli Shannon and Rylee Garrett; Tracy was a grandfather of two wonderful children who loved him dearly, Calleigh and Brantley Everett of Tennesseee. Tracy was loved by all who met him and will be greatly missed by his family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 19, 2023 in the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Blake Bivens officiating. Friends may visit with the family Thursday (today) from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
