Thomas Edward Workman, 89, from Princeton, transitioned from this life to his heavenly home on Tuesday, December 13, 2022. Born in Peterstown, WV on July 9, 1933, he was the son of the late C.M. Workman and Beatrice (Bailey) Workman. Tom retired from A & P after 36 years. He retired the second time from the Mercer County School Board and retired the third time from First Church of God of Princeton. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He was an active member of the First Church of God in Princeton. Tom was a hard worker all his life, loved his family, and enjoyed gardening. In his early years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a great storyteller & loved to reminisce about his growing up years, his A & P years and his time in the Army. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his wife of 63 years, Juanita Workman, his son, Robert Workman, three brothers, Joe Workman, Johnny Workman, & C.M. Junior Workman & three sisters, Aileen Myers, Eloise Myers, and Arlene McPherson. Survivors include his son, Mark Workman & daughter in law, Brenda Workman of Princeton, grandchildren, Jennifer Workman & husband Colin Trumbull of Raleigh, NC, Benjamin Workman & wife Jamie Workman of Dallas, TX, Danielle Madison & husband Michael Madison of Dallas, TX, and William Workman and wife Katelyn Workman of Bluefield, WV and ten great-grandchildren (Ellie Cox, Micah Cox, Tracy Workman, Athena Workman, Elliot Madison, Harper Madison, Owen Madison, Porter Madison, Sonya Workman and Sawyer Workman). The funeral service to celebrate the life of Tom will be conducted at Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 21 at 2PM with Brother Ray Jones of First Church of God officiating. Graveside service will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where the U.S. Army National Honor Guard and the VFW Post 1144 of Iaeger will conduct military rites. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00PM until the service hour of 2PM on Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Benjamin Workman, William Workman, Michael Madison, Colin Trumbull, Michael McPherson, and David White. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Silver Saints of First Church of God, 301 Mahood Avenue, Princeton, WV 24740.
