Thomas E. "Tom" Melvin, 76, of the Beckley Road, Princeton, died early Monday morning, September 8, 2025, at his home. Born November 29, 1948, In Princeton, he was the son of the late Chester Melvin & Verliss Roberts Melvin.Tom was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict serving with the U.S. Navy. He was in the first Paramedic Class in West Virgina working at OH-9 Ambulance service in this area. Tom was an industrial sales rep for Snap on Tools. Tom was a member of the B.P.O.E. # 1459 Princeton, where he loved shooting pool with his buddies. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather & brother. Those left to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Shelby Jean Belcher Melvin, two children, whom he was so proud of, his son Dr. Kelly Melvin and wife Dr. Kristina Melvin, daughter Stacy Canterbury and husband David Canterbury, three grandchildren who held the key to his heart, Willow Canterbury, Thomas James (TJ) Melvin & Toby Melvin, two brothers, C.J. Melvin Jr., & Michael Melvin & wife Mary. In honoring Tom's wishes, he will be cremated and no services.
