Sylvia Marie White, 76, of Woodland Lane, Princeton, WV, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 7, 2024, after a courageous battle with dementia. Born on October 27, 1947, in Sprague, WV, she was the beloved daughter of the late Jess and Mildred Starcher. Sylvia was a woman of remarkable grace, possessing a kind and gentle spirit, a quick wit, and a laughter that was infectious to all around her. Her interests included delving into her family's genealogy, sewing, and crafting with her older sister Louise Swanner.

Throughout her life, Sylvia demonstrated unwavering dedication, holding various positions at establishments such as the Dean Company, Lynn's Drive Inn, East River Drive Inn, Finks Restaurant, and concluding her career after ten years as a housekeeper at the Rockin' Chair in Lerona.

Deeply devout, Sylvia was a faithful attendant of the Roger St. Community Church, under the guidance of Pastor Steve Pendleton. Her unwavering faith sustained her, and she often spoke of her readiness to be called home. Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents, her loving spouse of 40 years, Martin Richard White, her infant son, Harvey Lee White, her daughter, Eva Donita Thompkins, as well as two brothers, Willard Dale Starcher and Harry Waldron Starcher, and sister, Wilma Wade.

She is survived by her children, two devoted sons, Martin (Marty) White of Princeton and Donnie White of Princeton, and a daughter Mildred Marie Crews and husband Terry of Elgood. Sylvia is also survived by her brother Terry Starcher and wife Kathy of Stovall Ridge, sisters Louise Swanner of Ohio, Phyllis White of Sand lick, Airwana Arnett of Lerona, and Cleo Bennet and husband Rick of Speedway. Additionally, she leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Sylvia Marie White, will take place at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 11, 2024, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Steve Pendleton officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Princeton. Pallbearers will be, Raeford Arnett, Nolan Mullins, Christopher Mullins, Jacob Carroll, Robert Payne, and Patrick Swingley, will be honored to lay her to rest, paying tribute to her life.

In deference to the family's wishes, after the graveside service, they kindly ask for privacy to gather together, mourn, and cherish the memory of their beloved Mother, Sister, Grandmother, and Aunt. You're understanding and respect during this time are greatly appreciated.
