Stephen “Steve” Michael Patterson, 50, of Lerona, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2026. Steve was born July 26, 1975, in Beckley, WV. He was the son of Charlie Patterson and Elaine Craft Patterson. Steve graduated from Fayetteville High School.

Steve was a loving husband, father, son and brother. He loved to be in the woods hunting or fishing. He always reminded others that the woods was his church and where he felt the closest connection with God. If Steve wasn’t in the woods, he would be farming and taking care of his family. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Virgilia "Jill" Keaton. In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Kelly Patterson, children, Sarah, Evan and Michael Patterson; sister, Angela “Gigi” Wickline and husband, Chad; nephews, Wyatt Wickline and girlfriend Cece Shaheen, and Terance Keaton; niece, Shayla Wickline; great-nephew, Asher Wickline; father-in-law, Jimmy Keaton; brother and sister in-law, Cody & Marie Keaton; close friends, Janie Cook, Spike and Dani Hoskinson, and Chris McKinney.

Services to celebrate the life of Steve Patterson will be held 11 a.m. May 11, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Directory, Princeton, with Pastor Danny Goins officiating. Burial will follow in the Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville, WV at 1:30 p.m. Friends may visit the family from 10 a.m. until the service hour at the Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road in Princeton.
