Howard Stanley "Stan" Witt, Jr. 81 of Caldwell Street, Athens died Thursday, February 5, 2026 at his residence. Born May 21, 1944, in Bluefield he was the son of the late Howard Stanley Witt and Frances Ellen Wright Witt. Stan was an HVAC Contractor and Master Electrician having worked for Allied Refrigeration, Owned and Operated Witt Mechanical and retired from First Community Bank as Director of Facilities Maintenance. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a US Army Veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Tom Witt.
Those left to cherish his memory, include his devoted wife of 60 years, Barbara Kay Hyer Witt. Daughters, Suzie Pendry (Chuck), Cindy Pendry (Larry) and Lisa Hopkins (Bill). Grandchildren, Joshua Pendry, Justin Pendry (Alyssa), Jason Pendry (Paige), Amanda Kevey (Nick) Rebecca Frame (Brandon), Katelyn Peek (Austin) and Blake Hopkins (Hannah). Great Grandchildren, Parker, Graham, Harper, Avarie, Liam, Riley, Natalie, Aubrey, Emmett, and Finnegan. Step Mother, Louise Witt. Sisters, Linda Lambert (Tom), Judy Clark, Ginger Desjardins, Barbara McDowell (Tom), Debbie Perdue (Randy). Brother, Matthew Witt. Several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral Services to Celebrate the life of Stan Witt will be held Monday, February 9, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor JB Hurt officiating. Burial will follow on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 12 Noon at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Monday from 12 Noon until the service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus, 1330 Mercer Street, Princeton, WV 24740. Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com.
