Sidney Lee Mathena, died Monday, May 15, 2023, at his residence. Born, May 10, 1960, in Princeton, he was the son of Willis Lee Mathena and the late Bonnie Lucado Mathena. Sidney retired from Norfolk/Southern Railroad with 20 years of service. He was a graduate of Princeton High School who enjoyed racing cars, gardening, hunting, fishing and being outdoors. Left to cherish his memory include his father, Willis Mathena; One son, Johnathon Mathena and wife Angel; Two grandchildren, Sorin and Faven Mathena; Two sisters, Teresa Harvey and husband Matthew, Carolyn Brown and husband Richard; One brother, Jeffrey Mathena; Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M., Monday, May 22, 2023, in the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Ray Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family from Noon until the service hour at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
