Shirley Lou Tabor, 84, of Princeton, died peacefully Monday, January 16, 2023, at Duke University Medical Center. Born April 9, 1938, in Princeton, she was the daughter of the late Mable Aletta Shaffer Payne. Shirley retired from the Maidenform in Princeton as a seamstress until the closure of the plant in Princeton. In her spare time, she enjoyed her hummingbirds, angels, working word puzzles and spending time with her family. In addition to her mother, she was preceded by her husband Ezra Lee Tabor Jr., mother-in-law, Beatrice Tabor, grandson Ezra Wayne Donley one sister, Darlene Singer and her husband Ed, one brother, Homer Shaffer, grandmother, Amy Shaffer and her Uncle Drayden Shaffer. Those left to cherish her memory, are her two devoted daughters, Carla Donley and husband Clyde, Rhonda Woolwine and husband Roger; Two grandchildren, Eric Donley and wife Bobbie Jo, Derrick Donley and companion Jessica; Great-grandson, Ethan Donley and wife Lauryn; Great-great-granddaughter, Colt Elaine Donley; Nephew, Van Singer and wife Janet and their children, Joey and Julia; Niece, Becki Singer and great-niece, Sandy Shaffer; 2nd companion William "Bill" Horne, they spent many happy years together. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 23, 2023, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Mike Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family Monday from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour at the funeral home.
