S hirley Catherine Kanode, 84, of Jacksonville, FL, formerly of Princeton, died peacefully, Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at her home with her family by her side. Born, June 21, 1938, in Princeton, she was the daughter of the late Fred Smith and Vina Hill Keffer. Shirley was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend who loved the Lord and served him faithfully. She was a photo technician and enjoyed gardening and being with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Benjamin Homer Kanode. Left to cherish her memory are her special niece and caregiver, Janice Key; Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Shirley Kanode will be conducted at 2:00 P.M, Friday, April 21, 2023, from the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Princeton. Friends may visit with family from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
