Shelia Lynn Southern, 53, of Old Oxley Road, Athens, died Friday, January 20, 2023, at her home. Born March 19, 1969, in Princeton, she was the daughter of Sylvia McManaway Hurst and the late Robert James "Jimmy" Bibey. Shelia really enjoyed riding her side-by-side on the backroads. She enjoyed her flowers, gardening and decorating. Shelia worked for the WV Turnpike Authority as a toll booth collector and was a graduate of Athens High School. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Stanley Bibey and a nephew Christopher Bibey. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Walter "Wally" Clay Southern, Jr; One son, Walter C. Southern, III; Two grandchildren, Kylie Klay Southern and Brady Cole Southern; One brother, Larry Hurst and wife Ashley; Special nephew, Trey Hurst; Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, January 30, 2023, from the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Becky Simpson officiating.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 Noon until the service hour at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
