Sadie Ray Thomason Mills, 85, of Harmon School Road, Princeton, WV, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, July 12, 2023, with her family by her side. She was born in Littlesburg, WV, on January 30, 1938, the daughter of the late Ralph Carr Thomason and Myrtle Terry Thomason. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jackson Mills and her sister Barbara Thomason Combs.

She was a lifelong resident of Mercer County, a 1957 graduate of Princeton High School.  Sadie was an employee of Mercer County Board of Education as a cook, school monitor and kindergarten aide.  She belonged to the Order of Eastern Star #53.  Sadie was of the Baptist Faith.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Jackson Mills, Jr of Matoaka, WV, and Ralph D. Mills and wife Darlene of Tabor Road, Bluefield, WV. Additional survivors are her brother Ralph Marshall Thomason and wife Pattie of Cartersville, GA and sister, Frances Williams of Sandwich, MA; Four grandchildren, Amber Warfield (Joe), Malinda Groves (Jeremy), Kevin Mills (Asheah), Kasandra Frederick (Ryan); Eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Compassus Hospice and Shelby's Place and staff for the wonderful care provided to Sadie and her family.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, July 14, 2023, from the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastors Paul Furrow and James Mooney officiating.  Burial will follow at the Holt Family Cemetery at Littlesburg. Friends may visit with the family Thursday, July 13, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
