Ruby Jane
Mcmanaway Vaught
Jan 6, 1937 — Oct 30, 2023
Ruby Jane Vaught, 86, moved to her eternal home on October 30, 2023, at Princeton Healthcare Center with family and Healthcare staff at her side. Ruby was born in Elgood, West Virginia on January 6, 1937. She lived in Princeton for 70 years and loved her town and the state of West Virginia. She worked at Maidenform and often told stories of her working days with her coworkers, working hard but always enjoying each other's company. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Harold "Jack" Vaught, and her infant daughter. She was also preceded by her mother, Mary Ida Romaine Dove, her father, Albert Jasper McManaway and four brothers, Ernie McManaway, Jerry McManaway, Bill McManaway, and Clinton McManaway. After Jack's death, Ruby grieved in her own way becoming involved with her church and her bowling leagues. She often said, "I don't have time to feel sorry for myself." The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Princeton Healthcare Center for their skilled hands and their patience while caring for Ruby and thank Fairview Christian Church, Larry and Blake, the Prayer Warriors, Pillow Ministry, and all of Ruby's friends who provided comforting words, prayers, and many hours of bedside friendship. God does have angels on this earth. "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you, and if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know." John 14:1-4. Left to cherish her memory are a sister, Ruth McManaway Stuart, and her husband Bobby of Radford, VA; Her niece, Katrina "Sissy" Reed and her husband Keith of Radford; Nephew James "Jamie" Atwood, also of Radford, VA; Other survivors are a sister, Rachel Herman and her husband, Carroll of Thomasville, NC; Brother, Jess Vaught and his fiancé, Mary of East Bend, NC; Numerous nieces, and nephews in multiple states. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Ruby Vaught will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, November 3, 2023, in the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastors Larry Dyer and Blake Bivens officiating.
