Ruby Lea Lewis, 86, of Lilly Grove Drive, Princeton, died Sunday, September 4, 2022, at the Mercer Nursing and Rehab. Born, October 9, 1935, in Weyanoke, she was the daughter of the late Bert Asbury and Mary Woodring Asbury. Ruby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Ruby loved the Lord and was a faithful member of the Lifeline Princeton Church of God for many years where she taught Sunday School and also held various other positions in the church. She retired from Princeton Community Hospital as a LPN with over 25 years service. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and loving her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Lewis, son, Bernard Lee Lewis, a grandson, Brandon Lewis and a sister, Betty Shrewsbury. Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Theresa Chipman and Steven Lewis; Two grandchildren, Casey Mills and Charissa Brinkley; Three great-grandchildren, Hailey Mills, Alyssa Lawless and Logan Mills; Four siblings, Brenda Kiser, Barbara Brown, Helen Cecil and Bobby Asbury; Several nieces and nephews; Adopted children, Kim and Troy Lawson. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Ruby Lewis, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, September 12, 2022, from the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road with Pastor Ryan Parks officiating.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.  Friends may visit with the family Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
