Obituary

Roy H. Turpin, Sr., 59, formerly of Princeton, died peacefully on Sunday, April 7th, 2024, with his four sisters and his niece Amber around him at Mary Washington hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Born April 9, 1964, in Stugartt, Germany, he was  the son of the late Roy Turpin and Elfriede Raab Turpin. Roy served in the US Army as a mechanic and loved working on old trucks He liked to go fishing and hunting and especially he liked hanging out with friends and family He spent the last 10 years as a glass mechanic for Del Rey Glass company in Alexandria, Virginia. His family remembers him as a loving big brother who was always there for his friends and family because he had such a big heart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Angie Turpin, and two sons, Charles Anthony Turpin and Roy Harvey Turpin, Jr. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Audi Mae Porter and Frieda Atwell (Matthew); sisters Virginia Turpin, Heike Christian, Lorraine McMichael (Lenny) and Rosita Turpin; Grandchildren, Breanna Turpin, Chelsea Atwell, Matt Atwell, Gracelyn Atwell and Christopher A. Vance; Several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Family and friends speaking. Military graveside rites will be provided by the WV National Honor Guard. Those attending the service are requested to meet at the funeral home no later than 10:45 A.M. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations can be mailed to The Memorial Funeral Directory, 654 Athens Road, Princeton, WV 24740. Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com . The Turpin family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory and  Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
