Obituary

Beloved husband and father Roy Lee Smith (Brother Roy) at the age of 83 went to his Heavenly Home on July 1st 2023.  Married to his lovely wife Brenda of 20 years resident of Princeton WV.  Preceded in Death by his parents Freda McDaniel and Arman Smith, brothers Leonard Smith (Elizabeth), Clayton Smith (Ellie) , Sister Karen Neville, Granddaughter Erinn Hollo. Roy's memories will be cherished by Brenda and his Daughter's Cathy White (David), Sherri Wright (Tim), Teresa Baxley, and Hope Miller (Joey) and Step Son Craig Hill.  Grandchildren: Jeremy White, Matt White, Nathan White, Taylor Korizon (Michael), Carrie Baxley, Halli Wright, Nicholas Baxley, Conner Miller, Chance Miller.  Great Grandchildren: Malin and Audyn and Olivia Hollo.  Siblings: Troy Smith (Linda) and Genny Tarbet (Chuck).  Roy loved being Outdoors, Sports, Fishing and an avid Virginia Tech (Hokies) Fan.  Roy was previously employed by Besty Ross Bakery and Aramark. He was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church 2016 and a former co-founder and member of Liberty Baptist Church since 1977.  Brother Roy served in the Bus Ministry, Choir, Teacher and Junior Church Pastor.  His biggest gifts were his faith in God and his desire to make people smile and laugh. Roy retired from Aramark as a sales representative with more than 30 years of service. Service of celebration will be held 1:00 P.M., Wednesday 5, 2023, at Maranatha Baptist Church on the Oakvale Road with Pastor J.P. Mays officiating, burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in  Princeton.    Friends may visit with the family Wednesday from Noon until the service time.  In lieu of Flowers memorial request Donations in honor of Granddaughter Erinn to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. Serving as pallbearers will be David White, Tim Wright, Homer Crews, Melvin Bishop, Joe Carter and Mark Broyles. Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com .  The Smith family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
