Mr. Roy Lee Neely, 79, of Westview Avenue, Princeton died early Tuesday morning, August 9, 2005 at the Princeton community Hospital. Born January 14, 1926, at Lerona, he was the son of the late Lewis Arthur and Josie Elmer Farley Neely. Educated in Mercer county, he was a life long resident of the county. Roy was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the V.F.W. He retired as a Sales Representative for both the Bailey Lumber company and the Virginia Supply company with more than 33 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Leonard Neely, along with sisters; Mamie Farley, Eula Williams and Thelma Dana Snider. Survivors His caring and devoted wife of 52 years, crystal Margaret Pennington Neely, a son Roy Eugene Neely, daughter in law, Melinda Sue Neely and a grandson, Brandon Eugene Neely all of Princeton. He is also survived by a brother Arthur Neely and his wife Kathleen and a sister, charlotte White all of Princeton. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, August 12, 2005 from the Burns Wornal chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Orville Harvey and Pastor Rob Buchanan officiating. Burial will follow in the Rocky Mount cemetery, Pipestem. Friends may receive friends today from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home.
