Roy Roscoe Caldwell, 84, of Athens Road, Princeton, died Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Princeton Health Care Center. Born, April 29, 1938, in Lerona, he was the son of the late Roscoe Caldwell and Daisey Crews Caldwell. Roy worked in the construction industry, he also worked in timbering and as a truck driver for the WV Department of Highways. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings, Thurman Caldwell, Garnett Neely, Bessie (Betsy) Hulver, Ruby Barton, Donald Caldwell and Carol Farley. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Linda Meadows Caldwell; Children, Roy "Peanut" Caldwell and wife Kitty, Deborah Holdren and husband Samuel, Peggy Fain and husband Eugene, Dreama Mann and husband Wayne and Joyce Bradley; Eight grandchildren; Seven great-grandchildren; Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, February 20, 2023, at the Crews Cemetery, Pine Grove Road in Lerona, with Stanley Metz officiating. Those attending the services are requested to meet at the cemetery by service hour.
