Obituary

Ronnie Wayne Phillips, 79, of Lerona, died suddenly Monday, September 22, 2025, at his home. Born November 17, 1945, at Lerona, he was the son of the late Marshall Phillips & Juanita Mae Baldwin Phillips. Ronnie graduated from Athens High School and later served with the U.S. Air Force. Ronnie spent his entire life in construction, having worked for several companies in this area, and retired from Swope Construction Company as its Superintendent.  Anyone that knew Ronnie knew his passion for playing golf.  He was a member of the Memorial Church of Christ, an avid reader of the Bible and Christian books. He loved his family dearly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Jo Phillips and a sister, Diana Phillips.  His survivors include his wife of 36 years, Deborah Gale Conley Phillips, children, Heather Bennett, Ronnie Wayne Phillips Jr., five grandchildren, Madison & Alyssa Bennett, Courtney, Conner & Tanner Phillips. Four siblings, Kenny & Sandy Phillips, Bobby & Debbie Phillips, Beverly Tucker & Sandy Lynch along with a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 26, 2025, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Rod Hedrick & Jim Conley officiating. Burial will follow in Phillips Cemetery on Browns Ridge Road in Lerona. Friends may visit with the family Friday from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour. The honor of serving as a pallbearer has been given to, Richard Bailey, Kenny Hylton, Jason Ramsey, Ronnie Woolridge, Danny Farmer and Doug Kinzer.  Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com .  The Phillips family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
