Robert Lee Vest, 57, of Princeton, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. Born, October 16, 1966, in Princeton, he was the son of Dolly Burton King of Princeton and the late Delmos King. Robert was a loving husband and father. He graduated from Spanishburg High School and went on to join the U.S. Navy where he was stationed in Japan, where his son was born. He retired from the Bluefield City Fire Department after 20 years of service as Captain. He was also in the Army National Guard and the U.S. Army where he served time in Iraq where he received many medals and honors. Robert loved the outdoors, especially riding his side by side, shooting his guns. He enjoyed wood working and listening to music in his man cave. Those left to cherish his memory in addition to his mother Dolly, his loving wife of 37 years, Terri Michelle Browning Vest; One son, Michael Vest and his wife Melissa Ann; Grandchildren, Darien Zopp and Alexia Woody; Three great-grandchildren, Adalyne Zopp, Aerith Zopp and Koralyne Woody; Sister-in-laws, Kim Sexton of Princeton, Sheila Walls and husband Ray of Beaver; Brother-in-law, Aaron Browning of Parkersburg. Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 6, 2024 at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Princeton with Pastor Jamie Mattox. Military honors will be conducted by the West Virginia National Honor Guard. Those wishing to attend theses services are requested to meet at the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton by 1:30 P.M.
