Robert Eugene Porter, 83, of Princeton, died peacefully Monday, June 13, 2022, at his home. Born February 24, 1939, at Branch Pond, he was the son of the late Albert Porter and Nora Queen Porter. Robert was a retired coal miner working for U.S. Steel (Pinnacle #51) at Pineville and a member of the UMWA. When he could attend church, he attended the Freewill Baptist Church. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife, Emmial Grace Morgan Porter, a son Billy Porter and four siblings, Redith Sizemore, Pat, Dennis and Joe Porter. Survivors include his two children, Anthony Porter (Lisa), Angela Perry (Les); Three grandchildren; Seven great-grandchildren; Four siblings,  Sibby Gobby, Tickie Anderson, Paul Porter, Louie Porter (Brenda); Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 21, 2022, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Donald Harding Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Bluewell. Friends may visit with the family Monday from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Anthony (Punkin) Porter, Cea Jay Porter, Steven Shrewsbury, Bryan Lowe, Scotty Reed and Blake Jude.
