R obert Steve Green, 86 , of Lexington NC, formerly of Princeton and McDowell County, died early Wednesday morning, January 8, 2025, at Lexington Health Care Facility, Lexington NC. Born February 14, 1938, in McDowell County, he was the son of the late Carlos Green & Gracie England Green. Living most of his life in McDowell County, Robert retired from Cannelton Coal Company as a heavy equipment operator and a member of the UMWA. Upon moving to Princeton, he was a member of the First Church of God on Mahood Avenue, attended Sunday school and was a member of the choir. While his health permitted, he enjoyed hunting, gardening and riding four-wheelers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by the love of his life, his devoted and loving wife of 64 years, Shelby Lane Green who died in 2021, along with a daughter Deborah Bryant who died in 2022 and brothers Lee, Leonard, Wiliam & Jimmy Green, sisters, Arlean Painter & Betty Lane. Those left to cherish his memory, two daughters, Connie Bellini & husband Ron, Donna Green & partner Brenda Kelly, four grandchildren, Maria Tesh (Michael), Ron Bellini (Holly), Michael Bryant & April Bryant & finace Jerry Hawkins, six great grandchildren, Madison, Reagan, Harrison Tesh, Bella & Sophia Bellini, & Layton Hawkins. Brother Carl Green (Jean). Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 16, 2024, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road in Princeton with Pastors Ray Jones and Paul Stokes officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
