Robert E. "Eddie" Blankenship Jr. 69, unexpectedly passed on Wednesday January 8, 2025, at Johnson City Medical Center, in Johnson City, TN. Born January 16, 1955, in Bluefield WV, he was the eldest son of Dixie Ferguson Blankenship of Spanishburg and the late Robert E. Blankenship Sr. Eddie graduated from Spanishburg High School in 1973. He will be remembered as a savvy businessman, a self-proclaimed comedian, and the life of the party.  He loved his family, his many friends, and Mopar. In addition to his father, he was preceded by a sister, Mary Elizabeth Blankenship. In addition to his mother, Dixie, he is survived by two children, Melanie Dawn Blankenship & wife Malina, Evan Blankenship, grandchildren, Jacob, Ari & Willow Blankenship, two brothers, David Bryan Blankenship & Leland Blankenship & wife Diane. Eddie will be laid to rest in the Wyatt Cemetery on Nubbins Ridge, near Spanishburg with Pastor C.T. Lilly III. Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com .
