Rita Ann Gooslin, 88, of Matoaka, died peacefully Saturday evening, May 20, 2023, at her home with her loving family at her side. Born December 30, 1934, in Pembroke, VA, she was the daughter of the late Virgil Albert & Juanita Jones Albert. Rita had worked at K-Mart and had been a cook for several businesses as well as working for the Mercer County Board of Education. Rita loved her family and well as her Lord & Savior. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by three children; Samuel Harold Rutledge, David Junior Rutledge & Harold Rutledge Jr. along with three siblings; Ronnie, Wayne & Gail. Those left to cherish her memory, her faithful husband of 49 years, Thurman Dewey Gooslin; Children, Belinda White & husband Raymond, Russell Carl Rutledge, David Nathan Rutledge & Savannah Cox; Seven grandchildren, Seventeen great-grandchildren; Sixteen great-great-grandchildren along with three siblings, Jerry, Billy & Monte Albert; A host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 24, 2023, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with her son-in-law Pastor Raymond White & R.C. Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.  Friends may visit with the family from Noon until the service hour at the funeral home.
