Ricky A. Riggs, Sr., 70, of Princeton, passed away, December 25, 2024, at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley. Born January 9, 1954, at Bluefield, WV, he was the son of the late Ward Riggs and Betty Dunford Riggs. After high school, Ricky worked as an underground coalminer for 14 years at Consolidated Coal. He retired from Industrial Plating & Machine (IPM) in Princeton and then worked part-time as a transporter for Bill Cole Auto Mall until his diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer in April of 2023. Ricky put up a strong and courageous battle until his body became tired. He lost his earthly battle the morning of Christmas Day 2024 and entered the gates of heaven with all of his loved ones gone before him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his brother, Kirby Riggs. Survivors include his loving and dedicated wife of 50 years, Drema Riggs; son, Ricky A. Riggs, Jr. and wife, Stephanie Sage Riggs, of Princeton, WV, sisters, Cindy Reed and husband, Benny Reed, of Elgood and Rebecca Ellison, of Princeton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 31, 2024, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Eddie Crews officiating.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M.  until the service hour at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Hospice House of Southern West Virginia, P.O.
