Rickie Allen Somyk, 72, of the Beckley Rod, Princeton, died Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Princeton Community Hospital. Born in Norfolk, VA., he was the son of the late Hubert Looney & Lexie Fuller Looney. Rick was a retired SSGT with the U.S. Army, serving his country for nearly 20 years with the military police. He then served with the Princeton Police Department for 9 years. While his health allowed, he loved scuba diving, both snow and water skiing. Survivors include his companion, Monica Lane, two children, Jeremy Somyk & companion Jackie Jackson, Chasity Higginbotham & husband Jason, 8 grandchildren, Micah Somyk, McKenzie Somyk, Breanne O'Dell, Chase, Cessa, Aaron, Alyssa & Johnathan Higginbotham. Five sisters, Chris Wagner Myers, Donna Amoss, Sharon McDoughall, Cynthia Mactilla, & Rita Wynn along with a host of nieces and nephews. Military Services will be held 2:00 P.M.
