Richard Lee Calvi, 81, of Princeton, died Sunday, December 24, 2023, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. Born June 24, 1942, in Chicago, IL., he was the son of the late Joseph Hugo Calvi and Loretta Deborah Longobardo Calvi.  Mr. Calvi was a member of the Johnston Chapel Baptist Church and loved the Lord.  He was a retired banker and entrepreneur & enjoyed fishing, golf, and playing pool in his more active days.  He was a good husband, father, and grandfather.  Survivors include his wife of 9 and ½ years (and the best of 3 by far) Gypsie Marie Shumaker Blankenship Calvi; two sons, Ric Calvi and wife Jenna (of Columbia Falls, MT) by whom he has 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, and Dave Calvi (of Lake Havasu, AZ) by whom he has 3 grandchildren;  two step-daughters, Mitzi O'Dell and 2 grandchildren of Salisbury, NC; and Tammie Blankenship & one granddaughter of Kannapolis, NC; one brother, Peter Calvi and wife Rosemary of Henderson, NV., one sister, Faith Calvi Taylor and husband David of Kingman, AZ.; and numerous nieces and nephews.  A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Johnston Chapel Baptist Church in Princeton with Pastor Jim Simmons officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the church one hour prior to the service. Honoring Richard's wishes, the body has been cremated and burial will be at a later date at Roselawn Cemetery in Princeton.
