Richard Harrison "Dick" Cook, 88, of Princeton, went to his Heavenly home early Friday morning, August 8, 2025, at Salem Virginia. Born March 25, 1937, in Kimball, he was the son of the late Fred C. Cook & Beatrice Burks Cook. Dick was a graduate of Bluefield High School. He served his country proudly with the U.S. Air Force from 1955-1959, and was a retired machinist with Coppinger & Einco Machinery with 36 years of service. Dick had worked as a funeral attendant with the Memorial Funeral Directory for 15 years. He took great pride in his work, whatever job he was doing, it was with precision. For the many people who had the privilege of having some of Dick's works and restorations in their homes, he took great pride in that work as well. There are many clocks hanging in many homes throughout this region that have Dick's fingerprints inside & out. Some of Dick's most beautiful work is within the walls of the Chuck Mathena Center in Princeton,. Dick came from a musical family anf began singing at the young age of 12. Dick was blessed with a beautiful bass voice. He was a faithful member of the First Church of God on Mahood Avenue in Princeton, where he sang in the choir, sang solos, and had served on various committees within the life of the church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by two siblings, Peggy Schuartzbeck & Dorothy Firestine. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years Norma Warden Cook. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Dick Cook will be held 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 12, 2025, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Ray Jones officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Wildwood Mausoleum, Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family Tuesday from Noon until the service hour. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to the First Church of God, 301 Mahood Avenue, Princeton WV 24740 The staff of the Memorial Funeral Directory will serve as pallbearers. Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com . The Cook family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
