Richard Borden "Dick" Daisey, 85, of Princeton, West Virginia, formerly of Lake Wales, Florida, died Friday, October 27, 2023 at Princeton Community Hospital after a brief illness. Dick was born August 3,1938 in Bluefield, West Virginia, to the late Richard I. Daisey and Lois Cornelia Borden Daisey. Dick was well-known and highly respected in the community as owner and operator of Daisey Reporting Services for 60 years. He served in the United States Army. He was a former Jaycee as well as a Past Exalted Ruler of the Princeton Elks (#1459), and Charter President of the West Virginia Junior Miss Pageant. An avid and lifelong baseball fan, he was a member of the Greater Princeton Little League and served as both umpire and coach. He also served as an assistant district administrator and chief umpire for WV District IV. He acted as the official scorekeeper for Princeton's Appalachian League teams – Pirates through the last affiliate with the Tampa Bay Rays. He was a former crossing guard for the Polk County, Florida, Sheriff's Department. Dick was an avid supporter of WVU and the Pride of West Virginia. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and playing solitaire, pool, and golf. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Anna Lynne Leshkow Daisey; left to cherish his memory and share his legacy are his children, Dianna Putorek and husband John, David Daisey and wife Sheri; grandchildren Leanna Faulkner (Tyler); Halie Henkes (Nick); Meredith Saunders (Aaron); Amanda Putorek; two great-grandchildren, Ian Faulkner and Elouise Henkes; one sister, Phyllis Moxley of Fairfield, OH, and a host of nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, October 31, at 11:00 a.m., at Resthaven Memorial Park with Rev. Dr. Ed Pettus officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Dick's name be made to Princeton Presbyterian Church, 1809 W. Main Street, Princeton, WV 24740.
