Obituary

Richard Bernard Belcher, 85, of Princeton, went home to be with his heavenly father on July 3, 2023, after a short battle with cancer. His loving wife of 57 years, Beatrice Belcher and his stepdaughter, Charlene Thomas, as caregivers by his side. He was the son of the late Eura and Myrtle Belcher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by one brother, Jack, along with seven sisters, Geneva, Ruby, Norma, Francis, Jean, Marie and Nancy Joan, also one great-grandson, Justin Laws and a son-in-law, Billy Thomas Jr. Additional family surviving are his two brothers, James and Thomas Belcher, two granddaughters, Michelle Yoder and Alisha McGuire, four great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. His wife would say what he loved best was being paw paw to his beloved grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, working on guns, listening to gospel music and a friendly conversation. He was a retired veteran from the U.S. Air Force and the 304th Army Reserve, he also served in Operation Desert Storm. Funeral services celebrating the life of Richard B. Belcher will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 7, 2023, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Ronald Dillon officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with military services under the direction of the U.S. Air Force. Friends may visit with the family Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.  Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com.
