Reva Gay Elswick Riley, 81, of Bluefield, Virginia, passed May 2, 2023, at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital with her family by her side. Born, July 2, 1941, in Glen Fork, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Robert Elswick and Pearlie May Dorton Elswick. Early in her life, she worked at the Lee Jeans Factory in Delaware as a seamstress. Reva was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was very active in the lives of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she loved supporting their school and sporting events; she was their biggest cheerleader. Her favorite hobby was gardening flowers, fruits, and vegetables. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donald Ray Riley, daughter Becky Lynn Riley, granddaughter Heather Gay, and two siblings, Phyllis and Charles. Those left to cherish her memory: Daughters, Lisa Browning, Pam Morgan and husband Fred; Grandchildren, Lyndsey and husband Sam, Karly, Maddie, and Ben; Six beloved great-grandsons; Two brothers, James and Robert Elswick; Several special nieces and nephews. Private services will be held Sunday, May 7, 2023, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family from 1:45 P.M. until 2:30 P.M. at the funeral home Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Princeton. Family will serve as pallbearers.
