Randy
Compton
Aug 31, 1952 — Nov 13, 2025
Randy Compton, a faithful believer and follower of Jesus Christ, returned home on November 13th, 2025, surrounded by family. Randy fought a courageous battle with cancer and his faith never waivered. Randy became a Christian over 53 years ago as he was Baptized into Jesus Christ at Falls Mills Christian Church, where he would later serve as a Deacon. After graduating from Graham High School, Randy attended Johnson Bible College for 2 years followed by graduating from Milligan College. Randy was a lifelong avid follower, former player, and friend of the Graham G-Men. Even while battling cancer and unable to physically attend G-Men football games, Randy was listening on the radio and rooting on Coach Palmer and the G-Men. Randy had over 32 years of service with Norfolk and Southern before retiring. He loved the ocean and got to fulfill his dream of living at the ocean by living at Oak Island, NC, for 4 years before moving back to the Bluefield-Princeton area. Randy was a member and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church while living in coastal NC. He then became a member of Maple View Church of Christ upon moving back home from North Carolina. Randy was married for 54 years to his High School sweetheart, Robin Haun. God blessed them with 3 children. Randy is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Margie Compton, his sister Carolyn, in-laws Buck and Dixie Haun, brother in-laws Bucky (Susan) and Billy Haun, and special niece, Stephanie Tate. Randy is survived by his wife, Robin Haun Compton of Princeton, WV, his son, Shane Compton (Aprille) of Forbush, NC, his son, Dr. Joshua Compton of Surfside Beach, SC, and daughter, Lesley Clemons (Danny) of Princeton, WV. Randy is survived by his Grandchildren, Zack, Amber, Kaitlin, Sara, Emma, Peyton, Easton, Brooklyn, Makenna, and 10 Great-Grandchildren. Additionally, Randy is survived by his brother Jimmy Compton (Pat), and sister in- laws Ginger Teschendorf (Patrick), Jaime Bishop (Dave), Kelli Henegar (Ron), and many beloved nieces and nephews. Finally, Randy is survived by his lifelong best-friend, mentor, and spiritual advisor Velma Scott, and a special shout-out to all of his Railroad, High School, and CR buddies. A Celebration of Life will be held at Maple View Church of Christ on Sunday, November 16th at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, Randy specifically requested any donations be sent to Appalachian Teen Challenge as Randy had a lifelong dedication and service work to underserved populations in need. Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com . The Compton family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory & Cremation Center on Athens Road in Princeton.
