Randal Tilmon Dawson, 63. Of Princeton, died peacefully Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. Born May 20, 1959, in McDowell County, he was the son of the late June Mayberry and raised by the late Nettie and Robert Dawson. Randal was a graduate of Princeton High School. He had retired from WV American Water Company with 40 years of service. Randal was a member of the First Christian Church, where he had served as Chairman of the Elders, and various other committees within the Church. One of his favorite joys was cooking at the church and for his family. He had also attended Landmark First Church of God. Randal never failed to testify to others about the love of Jesus and what He had done in his life. Randal was also devoted to his family, especially his adoring granddaughters. In addition to his mothers, he was preceded by his wife Patricia Lou Dawson, along with two siblings, Joyce Hartzog and Evelyn Hamilton. Survivors include his loving daughter, Christina Cartwright and husband Jamie; Two adoring granddaughters, Mina Reed and Isabella Cartwright. His four-legged friend Abby. Four siblings, Beverly Waldron, Drew Mayberry, Sherry Mayberry, Becky Lewis along with a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 1, 2023, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastors Jeff Valentine, Steve Janning & Gary Lyons officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of the Wildwood Mausoleum, Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family Wednesday from Noon until the service hour. Friends will serve as pallbearers. Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com . In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to the Landmark First Church of God, 290 Sackett Road, Princeton WV 24739. The Dawson family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
