Priscilla Ann
Cook
May 24, 1945 — Apr 27, 2025
Priscilla Ann Lampert Cook of Rupert, WV went home to be with her Lord on April 27, 2025 at the age of 79. Priscilla was born in Welch, McDowell County, WV on May 24, 1945 to the late Vernon Edward Lampert and Beulah Mae Lockhart Lampert. Priscilla married the love of her life, Rev. Raymond Eugene Cook on October 5, 1963 and was a faithful wife, companion, and ministry partner. In his later years, she served as his dedicated caregiver until his death on April 11, 2023. Their nearly sixty-year marriage included raising their two sons and serving in church congregations in WV. In addition to her parents and husband, Priscilla was preceded in death by her son Robert Michael "Bob" Cook. After graduating from Welch High School, Priscilla worked her entire life in the medical field in various clerical capacities, working at Steven Clinic Hospital in Welch, and as office manager for several doctors. She served, alongside her husband, in the various Church of God congregations where he pastored and was an exemplary pastor's wife. She played piano, taught children's classes, and was director of the Whirlybirds children's program. She delighted in teaching children about the Lord and His Word. Gene and Priscilla were faithful supporters and attendees at Craigsville Campmeeting. Priscilla loved being a mother and "nana" to her family. She sewed clothing for her boys, spent summers putting up food for her family, and attending many ball games to watch her boys play. As a grandmother, visits to her home were filled with a feast and some of the best desserts. Her applesauce cakes and Coca-Cola cakes were the best and her family looked forward to visits! In her spare time, she enjoyed reading Max Lucado books, sewing, and talking to her friends and family. She was a wise woman and was looked to for guidance by those who knew her best. Left to cherish Priscilla's memory and live out the legacy she built is her son Timothy (Gwen) Cook of Archdale, NC and daughter-in-law Melanie Forbes Cook of Mocksville, NC. Nana will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Jonathan and Carrie Cook of Mocksville, NC and Jake and Cole Cook and Hunter and Blake Sheets of Archdale, NC. In addition, Priscilla leaves behind her built-in best friend for life, her sister Judy Lampert (Gary) Wingler. Judy cared for her in her final months on this earth and was a dedicated sister and friend. She also leaves behind her nieces Melissa Fleeman, Christy Croy, and Angie Damon, as well as great nieces and nephews, Hannah Wingler, Abby Fleeman, Leah Croy, Garren and Gunner Damon, & Jocelyn Fleeman. The family would like to thank the staff at Glenwood Retirement Center for their care for Priscilla, Rev. Robert Hefner and his wife Dyan for their incredible support and friendship for many years, as well as the Henning Church of God congregation. A memorial service and celebration of the amazing legacy Priscilla leaves will be held at the Henning Church of God (3599 Vago Road, Frankford, WV) on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 2:00pm. Online condolences maybe shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com. The Cook family is being served by Memorial Funeral Directory & Cremation Center of Princeton, WV. Proverbs 31 describes Priscilla and she will be remembered by many of the words in that Scripture. "An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her (10)… She looks well to the ways of her household (27)… Her children rise up and call her blessed (28). In lieu of flowers, donations may go to the Henning Church of God Building Fund.
