Portalee Farley Simpkins, 91, of the Athens Road, Princeton, died peacefully Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at her home. Born July 15, 1933, at Camp Creek, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Carl Farley and Thurley Ann Wood Farley. Portalee was a graduate of Spanishburg High School and had worked at Owens Illinois Glass in New Jersey as an inspector in the Bottle department. She was a member of Ashworth Baptist Church and while her health permitted, she loved working in her flower gardens and collecting porcelain dolls.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by all of her siblings, Garland, Graydon, Wilson, Dollie, Elsie and Violet.

Those left to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 62 years, Everett Donald Simpkins; Two sons, Norman Carl Simpkins and Steve Donald Simpkins; One grandson, Aaron C. Simpkins One granddaughter Lindsay Roberts; Two great-grandchildren, Kinnley Simpkins, Parker Simpkins.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 11, 2024, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road in Princeton. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from Noon until the service hour at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
