Phyllis G. Poole, 81, of Glenwood Haven Road, Princeton, died Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born October 20, 1942, in Bluefield, WV, she was the daughter of the late Rosevelt Proffitt and Kathleen Proffitt. Phyllis loved her Lord and was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, great-great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a homemaker, who enjoyed sewing, working puzzles, working with her flowers, was on several different bowling leagues but especially enjoyed cooking for family get-to-gathers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Danny Giberson, her siblings, Darlene Jackson, Susie Taylor, Larry Proffitt, Don Proffitt, Ralph Proffitt, Jerry Proffitt and Tom Proffitt. Left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted husband of 43 years, Jerry Poole; Three children, Walter Giberson and wife Audra, Cathy Giberson and fiancée, Jay and Tina Baker and fiancée, Charlie; Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-granddaughter; Four legged companion, "Bam Bam"; Several nieces, nephews and friends also survive. A service of celebration will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, May 13, 2024, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton, with Pastor Tony Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family from Noon until the service time at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
