Phillip Darrell Shrewsbury, 81, of Beeson, died peacefully early Thursday morning, January 30, 2025, at home with his loving family by his side.
Born November 22, 1943, in Springton, he was the son of the late John Dewey Shrewsbury & Thelma Virginia Lester- Shrewsbury. Darrell was an outdoorsman, a lumberjack, a sawmill owner/operator and heavy equipment operator, retiring from Fairfield Bridge Corporation. He was a member of Friendship Primitive Baptist Church and Beeson Chapel Church. He loved playing softball, horseshoes, and weekly rummy games with family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Dewey Shrewsbury, sister Judy Hatfield and granddaughter Kylie Compton.
Those left to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 59 years, Reva Elizabeth Tedder Shrewsbury; two daughters, Diane Blankenship & husband Leland, Jennifer Shrewsbury & boyfriend Bo Duncan; 5 grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Kayla Jennings, Phillip Mullins and fiancé Abbigayle Collins, Renae Mullins, Elizabeth Mullins & Trista Compton; 5 great -grandchildren, Tyler Morgan, Emma Lowery, Ellie Lowery, Maylynn Collins & Rheagan Mullins; siblings, Irene Tedder, Barbara Ann Shrewsbury & Robert Shrewsbury and family friend Amber Sims.
Services to celebrate Darrell's life will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Beeson Chapel Church with Pastor Jeff Shrewsbury officiating. The burial will be in the Shrewsbury Cemetery at Beeson. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour at the church. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
