Peter Alan Skroback, 71, of Princeton, died Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. Born December 4, 1952, in Miami, Florida, he was the son of the late Raymond S. Skroback and Nancy McDonald Skroback. Pete had served with the U. S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a former law enforcement officer, prior to becoming a Conservation Officer with the State of West Virginia working in McDowell and Mercer for 15 years. After being a Conservation Officer, he was active-duty Army National Guard until his retirement in 2009. Pete was deployed to Iraq in 2003 during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was also an avid animal lover and always had a place in his home for all animals, domestic or wild. After retirement, Pete donated generously to many organizations that were close to his heart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Suzanne Jeanette Skroback & a sister Julie Skroback. Survivors include his two children, Jeannie Marie Kelly & husband James, Raymond Stephen Skroback II and fiancé Aeriell Turner. Three grandchildren Morgan Tabor, Michael Kelly & Jamie Kelly. Three siblings, Steve Skroback & wife Barbara, Kenneth Skroback & wife Elaine, Joanne Kleintop & husband Keith. Along with a host of nieces and nephews. A time of Gathering and Sharing will be held on Saturday, June 29th, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in Pete's name to any of the following organizations, CARES: Community Autism Resources Education Systems https://wvcaresforautism.org/ , Lasting Change for Paralyzed Veterans | Paralyzed Veterans of America https://secure.pva.org/ , or K9s for Warriors – Service Dogs for Veterans with PTSD https://k9sforwarriors.org/ . Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com . The Skroback family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
