Peggy Lynn Cole, 70, of Lerona, died Monday, August 18, 2025, in Athens. Born May 16, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois, she was the eldest daughter of Donald Lloyd Cole and Ola Lay Cole (née Shrewsbury). After graduating from college, Peggy worked as a computer programmer for the Ohio EPA in Columbus, Ohio. Peggy always wanted children, yet could not conceive due to her health concerns. However, as a devoted foster mother, she fostered two children and adopted her loving daughter Nichole. Peggy loved the outdoors, traveling, reading, and the arts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved dog, Buddy. She is survived by her daughter, Nichole Lee Cole (Pennington) and her husband, Josiah; two grandchildren, Eleana and Lillian, both of Hampton, VA; two siblings, Donna Cole and her companion, Candy Sutherland, and Barbara Cole and her companion, Eugene Wilber.
