Paul Roger Thornton,83, of Princeton, died Saturday evening, February 1, 2025, at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Born March 6, 1941, in Princeton, he was the son of the late Frank Thornton & Hattie Sue Wade Thornton. Paul had worked for the WV Department of Highways, AEP and was a brick mason by trade.  He was a member of New Cornerstone Baptist Church. Paul loved to dance, shoot pool, walking, but most of all, he loved his family & grandkids. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Emma Jean Thornton, along with 4 siblings. Survivors include five daughters; Paula & Kenneth Adams, Sue & Dale Kanode, Tina & Eddie Bailey, Lisa Bell, Rebekah & Nathan Mills. 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren. One Brother, Jackie & Janet Thornton along with a host of nieces and nephews. A special friend and caregiver, Tammy Weis. Funeral services will be held 2:00 Friday, February 7, 2025, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Valarie Proffitt officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour at the funeral home.  Serving as pallbearers will be Wayne Hill, Matt Ahmed, Eddie Bailey, Nathan Mills, Dale Kanode & Bryce Veneri. The Thornton family will be gathering at the home of Tina Bailey, 201 Morning Dove Road, Bluefield (Green Valley) where friends can visit.
