Paul Marion Sammons, 79, of Princeton, died peacefully Monday afternoon, March 10, 2025, at his home with his family at his side. Born May 23, 1945, in Princeton, he was the son of the late John P. Sammons & Josephine Byrd Sammons. Paul loved working and had worked all of his life, starting as a lineman, Erps Construction Company, West Virginia Pipeline, A T Massey Coal, Little Boyd Coal and retired from Eagle Mining in Boone County. He was a member of the Johnston Chapel Baptist Church on Halls Ridge Road in Princeton. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed woodworking and fishing.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Brian Hypes & Michael Sammons along with a sister, Bobbie Jean Ellison.Those left to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Rita Gay Riffe Sammons, two children, Jeffrey Sammons & wife Kathryn, Misty Hudson, six grandchildren, Justin Hypes, Savannah Hypes, Katie Slaughter, Malachi Hudson, Brandon Sammons & Elizabeth Hypes & 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 14, 2025, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastors Dan Thyng and James Walsh officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour.
