Obituary

Dr. Norman Lewis Jones, 86, of Princeton, passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior early Monday morning, November 14, 2022, at his home with his family by his side. Norman was born on February 20, 1936, to the late Norman Lee Jones and Nettie Pearl Lewis Jones in Madison, WV. It was here in high school that he met his one and only sweetheart, Nancy. Together they graduated from Scott High School and Marshall University. In 1956 they married and moved to Baltimore where he graduated from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery Dental School, University of Maryland. Dr. Jones practiced dentistry for 41 years, nine years in Coalwood, WV, and 32 years in Princeton, WV. Norman loved the Lord and never hesitated to share his faith with others. As a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Princeton, he enjoyed serving in the choir and on various boards and councils. "Doc" treasured his time outdoors hunting and fishing, especially in the mountains and rivers of Monroe and Webster counties. Many Saturday mornings were spent at country auctions and many evenings at the Princeton ballpark. He especially enjoyed sharing these outings with his family. He never met a stranger and always had a story to tell and a song to sing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers Maurice, Joel, and Marty. Survivors include his wife of sixty-six years Nancy Smith Jones; Three daughters, Prisca Dalton (Greg), Penny Eanes (Eric) and Petrina Pate (Rick); Five grandchildren, Laura Armato (Josh), Kacie Fleming (Daniel), Olivia Basha (Hanna), Cole Pate (Lucinda) and Isabella Pate; Four great-grandchildren, Abby, David, Henry and Eli Armato. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M.
