Obituary

Noah James Robinson, Jr., 78, of Partridge Drive, Princeton, died Sunday, December 4, 2022, at Princeton Community Hospital. Born, July 12, 1944, in Gary, he was the son of the late Noah James Robinson, Sr., and Nellie Spychola Robinson. Noah was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Noah worked for 21 years as a coal miner and served as a McDowell County Sheriff Deputy. He was an active member in the following organizations, the Beni Kedem Temple in Charleston, the McDowell Lodge #112 Masons, the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Welch, the American Legion Post 8 in Welch, and the Loyal Order of the Moose 1094. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Adkins. Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife, Shirley Stephens Robinson; Two sons, Noah James Robinson, III (Nicole) and Derrick Allan Robinson, Sr. (Tina Gillenwater); Two grandchildren, Derrick Allan Robinson, II and Kayla Danyel Robinson; One brother, Joseph Robinson (Kathy); One niece, Heather D. Lockhart; One nephew, Michael J. Robinson. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Noah James Robinson, Jr., will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, December 9, 2022, from the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastors James Holt and Dennis Kinnan officiating.  Burial will follow with military graveside rites provided by the Iaeger Veterans Honor Guard   in Woodlawn Memorial Park.  Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, December 8, 2022, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com .
